Poseidon In Pink
Happy New Year to everyone! I love New Years, because we are all desperate at some point or another in our lives for a fresh start. A restoration, a pledge to make things better. We are all just little hot messes trying to do the best we can but we all could use a re-do at some point right? It’s something worth celebrating, even if it is more symbolic than anything else.
I’m not going to drone on about my year last year, but as a matter of fact, I did get the chance to make some major changes in 2019. Much of 2019 felt for me like drinking from a fire hydrant - the things I learned, the experience I gained, the changes I made in my own life - the struggle to balance all of it and take some big risks at the same time. I really can’t say it was a terrible year for me personally, but it was a learning year, not an easy year! In the beginning of 2019 though, my friend Martha joined me as a partner (we are no longer business partners BUT we are still friends, love her so much, she’s an angel, there’s no drama here you guys), and we took on our first big project together: A pretty large ranch house in Arcadia for some clients who wanted to create an exciting and colorful rental home!
This one was challenging (in the best way) because each bathroom we ended up doing in the home turned out SO unique (clients wanted lots of unexpected moments and character in the home, and were inspired by conversational wallpapers, birds / animals, English cottages, and Japanese design - talk about a COMBINATION!). So it was interesting for Martha and I to find the balance there between something that felt unique and fun, yet uncluttered for a renter!
Up first, I’m sharing what we have CLEVERLY nicknamed “The Pink Bathroom!” Yes, there is no shortage of intellect here at Paro Home. The mind reels at the creativity behind the moniker. Anyway, it felt like kind of a boring title for a blog post, so I give you “Poseidon in Pink.” You can find links to sources at the end of the post!
