2021 Recap
Yeah, you read that right. 2021!
Instead of looking back, I’m looking forward. You don’t have to recap the things that make you sad. I’m sad about a lot of things that happened this year. I can take that stuff to therapy though. We’ve had enough sad conversations this year— let’s make this one fun.
Now, I present to you: my favorite things that happened in 2021!
We beat Covid and it became a thing of the past, much like the mumps or polio. Covid? more like NOvid (I’m allowed 3 bad jokes per blog post. Once you become a parent your limits go up)
We inaugurated our very first female Vice President into office. What! I mean, besides Selina Meyer.
We finished our addition and my studio. Wow. We finally got to see what it was like to have more than one bathroom! I also finally got a bath tub, the only thing I’ve ever wanted in a home. I live in the bathtub now. It is my home. Josh is fine with our arrangement.
My business grew and I was able to bring 2 employees on full time! I was also able to start providing benefits which is something I’ve always wanted to do.
My kids got to start attending school again! They are thriving and flourishing and learning so much and not getting sick of each other or watching TV all day! Things felt back to normal this year, and we really needed it after how hard last year was.
I was able to start focusing on doing licensing and product lines this year, that I hope to continue to bring forward in the next couple years. This is a dream I have always, always had, but it takes $$ to get it rolling. It’s baby steps but I am so excited we started.
Josh and I were able to take another getaway trip this past year to ??? Thailand? Italy? France? Je ne sais pas! Wherever it was, it was very good.
This past year was SO important health wise for me, as I was able to start treating my sleep apnea, and wean down off of prednisone all the way, and lose all that steroid weight gain. My asthma improved and I was able to be way more active. I thought 2020 was going to be the year I turned the health corner, but some things can’t just turn on a dime. It takes awhile, and I had to learn that in 2020, but this past year I was able to see the fruits of the labor and it improved the quality of my whole life, and our family’s life.
Also, pretty cool, in 2021 I made like a million dollars in the stock market.
(Side note: this cardigan is my favorite cardigan ever of all time. It’s super lightweight and SO SOFT, and perfect for pulling a t-shirt and jeans together when you don’t wanna be too warm. It’s really hard to find layers that work in the desert like this one. You can get it HERE - they’re only $27 and there’s a bunch of colors! June&January has been one of my favs for kids for awhile but this was my first time ordering from the grown up section and I know I sound like an ad here! I didn’t get it for free or anything, I’m just really in love with this dang cardigan. Hah!)
