Making Daylight - Workshop!

***Note: the May 19th date is currently full, but be on the lookout for future workshop dates!***

Hey, Phoenix!

If you were at the Arizona Bloggers' Conference this past weekend, then you've already seen my big announcement, but I'm so excited to announce to the rest of you that I'll be doing a workshop on how to make daylight happen in your own home!

This is a self-portrait I took at 8pm (dark outside, ya'll). For you technical folks, this photo was shot at f/ 1.4 at 1/125 of a second, ISO 400. This whole lighting set-up is made from supplies purchased from our local hardware store for less than $30!

Here is all of the information for the Making Daylight Workshop!

WHEN:  Saturday, May 19th - 7-9pm

The Making Daylight Workshop will cover:

  • creating flattering portrait lighting in your own home
  • creating simple and beautiful object lighting in your own home
  • special lighting circumstances for glass and metal objects
  • making your own light diffusers
  • your hardware store shopping list, keeping your budget under $30!

What you will need to bring:

  • your camera
  • an object you'd like to learn to photograph! ie, jewelry, a candle, etc.
  • a notebook + pen

For this very first Making Daylight Workshop, the special cost is $35 and will include one lamp. Only 15 spots are available.

I will be holding future Making Daylight workshops, but the $35 special rate is just for this first date! If you are interested in attending and would like us to hold your spot, send me an email at hello@arrowandapple.com with "making daylight" as the subject. The spots will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis!

Again, I'm really excited about this workshop! I think it will most benefit bloggers, photographers, and shop / etsy sellers, who have other commitments during the daytime, and who find that most of their photos are being taken at night. This class will also benefit anyone who is unsure about lighting and would like to know more!

Send me an email if you are interested, and let's do this! :)
